TOPICAL ISSUES IN THE COURT OF PROTECTION AND PRACTICAL GUIDANCE ON THE REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVES

Join us at 4:45 pm on Thursday 12 May 2022 for a seminar presented by Birketts LLP's Court of Protection and Private Client Teams. The seminar will cover:
- Litigation in the Court of Protection and recent cases
- When is it appropriate to remove and replace a personal representative and how can it be done?
- The role of a replacement personal representative.
Jennie Kingham is a Senior Associate and heads up the Court of Protection team at Birketts and has over 20 years' experience in this area. Together with her team, including Katie Mayes and Catherine Frost, Jennie joined Birketts in 2020 having worked at two large local law firms where she built her reputation with clients and connectors. She acts as a professional Attorney and Deputy in looking after the property and financial affairs of those individuals who lack mental capacity. In addition, Jennie and her team deal with contentious applications within the Court of Protection in relation to the registration of EPAs and PAs, Deputyship appointments, gift applications and statutory Wills, providing straightforward and practical advice to ensure that the best outcomes can be achieved.
Kate Harris is a Senior Associate in the Contentious Trusts and Probate team at Birketts. She advises a broad range of national and international clients including private individuals, trustees, executors, administrators, beneficiaries and charities in relation to inheritance, estate and trust disputes. Her work 'spans will validity claims, estate administration issues, including claims for the removal of executors, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and breach of trust claims.
Emily O' Donnell is a Senior Associate in Birketts" Private Client Advisory team. She specialises in complex tax and succession planning matters including inheritance tax mitigation for high net worth families, business owners and landowners. Emily also has extensive experience in relation to complex estate administration for business and farming families, particularly in relation to claims for agricultural, business and heritage property tax reliefs including post death arrangements to maximise available reliefs.
Registration will begin at 4:45pm at Birketts' offices at 22 Station Road, Cambridge, CB1 2JD. The presentations will begin at 5:00pm, followed by drinks and canapés from 6:00pm.
